DoD: Case Studies

INNOVIM served as the primary technical execution arm for Phantom Eagle under the Kessel Run Data Science contract. We were responsible for delivering high-impact DevSecOps, data science, and cloud-native software engineering support to accelerate the Air Force’s transformation to an agile, software-defined enterprise. Our team led technical engagements with government stakeholders, supported classified and IL6 environments, and implemented secure, scalable infrastructure for continuous software delivery.

Key areas of impact included:

• CI/CD Enablement and Pipeline Automation: Designed and deployed secure CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, and ConcourseCI, integrated with security tools like SonarQube, Fortify, and Snyk to ensure hardened, production-ready software across environments.
• Cloud-Native Architecture Deployment: Migrated multiple KR applications to a Kubernetes-based All-Domain Common Platform (ADCP) hosted in AWS GovCloud and classified domains (IL6), ensuring high availability and interoperability.
• DevSecOps Toolchain Integration: Implemented automated vulnerability scanning, container registry management (ECR), and secure deployments leveraging Skaffold, Helm, and Terraform-based IaC.
• Developer Enablement: Established local Kubernetes clusters and a secure self-service developer portal, improving velocity and consistency from development to production.
• Security and c-ATO Support: Integrated security automation into the development lifecycle, supporting Continuous Authority to Operate (c-ATO) through rigorous code analysis, identity access control (aligned with ICAM), and incident response readiness.

• Accelerated Software Delivery: Reduced deployment times from weeks to hours through fully automated CI/CD pipelines and IaC practices.
• Mission Continuity in Classified Environments: Seamlessly transitioned 12+ applications to secure, IL6-compliant Kubernetes clusters, supporting operational warfighting needs.
• Strengthened Cyber Posture: Enabled continuous compliance and rapid remediation through integrated security scans, supporting ATO and c-ATO sustainment.
• Developer Empowerment: Delivered a self-service platform that improved developer efficiency and ensured production parity testing environments.
