INNOVIM Team Member Recognized with 2025 NESDIS Outstanding Mission Operations Team Member Award

September 2025 – Greenbelt, MD – INNOVIM proudly congratulates Christopher Pagan, a key member of the SWFO-L1 Mission Operations Support Team, on being recognized as a recipient of the 2025 National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) Outstanding Mission Operations Team Member Award.

This prestigious honor, awarded by the NOAA Office of Space Weather Observations (SWO), highlights the team’s outstanding contributions in achieving SWFO-L1 launch readiness. Christopher and his colleagues played a pivotal role in successfully completing three mission rehearsals, three space-ground interface end-to-end tests, and multiple readiness exercises, critical milestones in preparing for this landmark launch.

The award was announced by Irene Parker, Deputy Assistant Administrator for Systems and Acting Assistant Administrator for Satellite and Information Services. In her commendation, Parker praised Christopher and the team’s “exceptional dedication and expertise,” noting that their work “serves as an inspiration for others to emulate [their] high standard of excellence.”

All award recipients will be formally acknowledged during the 2025 NESDIS Award Ceremony.

The Space Weather Follow-On Lagrange 1 (SWFO-L1) mission will provide continuous solar wind monitoring and coronal mass ejection detection to support NOAA’s space weather forecasting mission—protecting critical infrastructure and national security.
