Artificial Intelligence & Decision-Support Tools

Beyond communications, INNOVIM builds the science. Under company-funded and SBIR research, INNOVIM developed LEARN² (Landfalling Event Atmospheric River Neural Network), a machine-learning system that predicts extreme rainfall from landfalling atmospheric rivers on the U.S. West Coast, delivered through an interactive public web tool. This work, presented at the American Meteorological Society (AMS) Annual Meeting, shows INNOVIM’s ability to pair deep scientific and data-science expertise with the same visualization and web-delivery skills applied across this portfolio. All diagrams below are original INNOVIM work products.

LEARN²: Neural-Network Prediction of Extreme Rainfall

An ensemble of neural networks ingests global weather-model and climate-index data to forecast landfalling atmospheric-river rainfall out to 10 days, a chronically difficult extreme-precipitation problem.

SWFO-L1 Satellite Launch Outreach — Kennedy Space Center, 2025

Coordinated public guest operations and outreach for the launch of NOAA’s first dedicated space-weather satellite, staffing multiple visitor stations (Banana Creek and the Apollo/Saturn V Center), supporting tri-mission science presentations, and managing exhibit, swag, and memorabilia logistics.
Outcome: Public engagement at a historic NOAA satellite launch, from viewing-site outreach to Congressional-viewing materials.
SWO Summit
EVENT PRODUCTION

Space Weather Observations (SWO) Summit

Planned and ran the annual SWO Summit, coordinating venue, audiovisual readiness, presenters, and attendee communications. When a 24-hour launch delay compressed the two-day agenda into a single day, INNOVIM restructured the program in real time, then codified a reusable event SOP.
Outcome: A restructured, single-day summit delivered without disruption, with lessons captured for future events.
Solar Eclipse
PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT

Solar Eclipse Public Engagement — 2023 & 2024

Managed high-volume public science booths for the 2023 annular eclipse (Albuquerque) and 2024 total solar eclipse (Dallas), directing thousands of visitors, distributing eclipse glasses, and running solar-science demonstrations at partner museums. At the Cotton Bowl, INNOVIM operated the accessible “Light Sound Booth,” enabling blind and visually impaired visitors to experience the eclipse through sound.
Outcome: Thousands of visitors engaged across multiple venues, including an accessible, inclusive eclipse experience.
Multimedia & Broadcast

INNOVIM produces broadcast-quality science video, launch and mission media, and live-shot packages for Federal science audiences. As a subcontractor to ADNET Systems on NASA’s Science, Engineering, Systems and Data Analysis (SESDA) contract at Goddard Space Flight Center, INNOVIM staff produced and filmed science-communication videos for NASA’s Scientific Visualization Studio and the NASA Science Live series. Several are public and linked below; each NASA page independently credits the INNOVIM team member who performed the work.
