NASA Group Achievement Award

Congratulations to the many INNOVIM Team members who recently received a NASA Group Achievement Award for “extraordinary dedication, skill, teamwork, and perseverance in developing and delivering the Suomi NPP Mission for the Nation.”

INNOVIM Team Members Contribute to Paper Published by SPIE

Congratulations are in order for Dr. Guoqing Lin and Dr. Krishna P. Tewari. These two INNOVIM colleagues contributed as co-authors to a paper recently published by SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics.

The paper entitled NPP VIIRS Early On-Orbit Geometric Performance assesses in great detail the performance of the NASA/NOAA Visible Infrared Imager Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument on board the Suomi National Polar‐orbiting Partnership satellite launched in October 2011. Exciting work at NASA, NOAA

The Suomi NPP Mission successfully launched it’s $1.5 bil. spacecraft in October 2011. It’s the first satellite designed to collect data for both short-term weather forecasting and long-term climate modeling, and the critical precursor to even more capable Earth-observing satellites in the future.
